Historian Questions The Birth of the Name “Bingo”

We have all been led to believe that the name “bingo” evolved in the USA from a game called Beano. A certain toy manufacturer, Edwin S Lowe apparently saw the game of beano being played at a county fair. Took it home and one player got so excited that they stood up and shouted “Bingo” instead of beano and the name stuck, making the US responsible for the name “Bingo” claim to fame. Bingo Birthday Giveaways for Jackpotjoy

Bingo Club Raises Funds for Church for Over Twenty Five Years

An East Kirkby bingo club has been raising church fund for the maintenance of the village hall and St. Nicholas Church for more than twenty five years. Last year they raised more than ₤1 000 and they have been doing this every year going back for a quarter of a century. There is a dedicated team of volunteers who hosts a bingo night that attracts a great deal of support from the village. The bingo night is held every Tuesday at 7:30pm. (more…)
